What I Can Do Today

Read pipe drawings, isos, weld details and fabrication layouts
Layout and precision measurement on active sites
Spool fit-up, tacking, bevelling and joining
SMAW and GMAW welding, first-period level
Oxy-acetylene cutting, set-up and operation
Rigging support, material handling and site logistics
Framing, concrete, demolition and structural steel
Work to field-level hazard assessment and JHA procedure daily
Lift 50 lb repeatedly, work at height, work in heat and cold

What I am Looking For

A long-term position with an employer willing to sponsor apprenticeship hours toward journeyman. First period is complete and the Alberta AIT first-year examination is passed, so the paperwork is ready to move the day you are.

Shutdown, turnaround and maintenance work across Alberta, camp or local
Fabrication shop or field crew, days or nights
A crew that will put a first-period apprentice where the work actually is
